This weekly ride of the WCCC club is going south!

Join WCCC for a south/southwest side Sunday ride to mix up the normal Ft. Sheridan route routine.
We'll meet at the Totem Pole and leave promptly at 7:30AM. We will have a brief stop at Queen's Landing (across from Buckingham Fountain) ~8:00AM.  Or if you'd like to meet us somewhere else on route, let us know where.

Riders should plan to maintain rolling speeds of 15-17 mph and have a nice base of miles in to comfortably complete this 77 mile, mostly flat journey.  We will stick together as a no-drop group.  Please print your own cue sheet if you'd like one and/or download route to your device.

After the lakefront trail, we'll continue south through the Pullman neighborhood where the National Monument is. Bring a snack to eat here. Another brief stop will be in Blue Island for an epic photo if the R&R tracks are clear!

We'll continue onto the Major Taylor Trail then the Cal-Sag Trail.
A lunch stop at the halfway point will be at www.yelp.com/biz/frangella-italian-market-palos-park  (we can eat outside with bikes so no locks needed).  ABC7’s Hungry Hound, Steve Dolinsky, rated this #3 of the 31 best Italian Beef stands in Chicagoland.  Chicago’s Best rates it up there too: www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2yuLPClCRg  Even after 35 miles, you might be wise to split one of these with a fellow rider or have a pasta salad!?

After lunch, we’ll finish the Cal-Sag and head northeast on part of Centennial trail.  A final stop will be in Lyons for a Culver’s custard!  Finishing up, we’ll ride the 606 trail and head north or wherever your home base is to conclude the day ~3pm.

If 77 miles is too much, you can bail on route at 51 mile mark for a 9 mile ride to Midway airport to take the Orange Line home or a Pace bus may be an option.  The Ogden bus, however, does not run on Sundays.
