Meet at Foster Ave. and the lakefront bike path by 9:40 for a 9:45AM sharp departure. We'll ride north 8 miles to Evanston and stop for a break at Northwestern University’s Ryan Field to witness the tailgating frenzy just before the Northwestern v. Iowa game. With luck, we’ll meet Willie Wildcat and/or Herky!
After the Star-Spangled Banner and 11AM kickoff, we’ll depart for a 12 mi. ride to Tower Road and down the North Branch Trail for a lunch stop at
Macushla Brewing
in Glenview.
Hackney’s
is right next door to have a famous Hackneyburger on rye, delivered to the brewery!
After our fill of beer, burgers, and college football on TV (~1:30PM), we will continue south to complete the North Branch Trail in all its Fall glory, including the newest extension to Foster Ave. The after-lunch part of ride will be ~15-20 mi. or so depending on your final destination.
Pace will be a casual 12-16 mph, no drop! All are welcome.
Please bring a bike lock, government-issued ID, and money for food/drink.
